Average Bench: 102% (61st of 714)

Based on 1,082,454 user benchmarks.  Device: 10DE 1B80 Model: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080

The GTX 1080 is Nvidia’s new flagship graphics card. It features the new 16 nm (down from 28 nm) Pascal architecture. This is the first die shrink since the release of the GTX 680 at which time the manufacturing process shrunk from 40 nm down to 28 nm. In terms of typical 3D gaming performance the 1080 is around 30% faster than the GTX 980 Ti and it manages to deliver the additional performance with a TDP of just 180 Watts which is 70 Watts less than the 980 Ti. The new Pascal architecture delivers a satisfying jump in performance over Maxwell and the GTX 1080 is now the fastest single GPU available. Over the coming months older generation cards will likely see significant price drops as the better value for money 1070, 1060 and 1050 cards slowly replace their predecessors. [May '16 GPUPro]

Had problems at first but it turns out that it was software related and I had to wipe windows, you have no idea how much fun it is to be able to run any game at highest settings. I would suggest it 100% btw ark doesn't count as a game it's more of a un optimized sh** fest.—Aug '16

Writing in 2022, just as the 2nd and worst Global GPU Shortage is finally subsiding... When your EVGA FTW3 1080 beats a 3060 and trades blows with a 3070 in FHD 1080p performance... you know there is something wrong with the world and something very right with your 1080. Take good care of it, whisper sweet nothings to it, don't force it into mining slave labor, and always blow it a good night's kiss.

Don't purchase this unless you are getting it used for $310 or less, like I did. Smashes games and performs pretty close to the 2070, great value used. 4/5 mostly because of Asus' model has partly failed RGB, not enough to return it. Smashes my 1080p 60Hz monitor, planning to upgrade to 1440p in a few months. Thanks for reading.

This does an excellent job for those in the media creation, and editing department, excellent compute scores and does extremely well on my 4K HDR display, if I were to upgrade the Nvidia RTX 2080 actually has lower computer scores but renders faster, therefore would consider the 2080-ti over it, that said if you already own it no point of looking to upgrade considering this dies an excellent job.

Outstanding

With the most recent price drop, you'd be a fool not to pick one up. Even if you have to sell your desk, and/or chair. Make some compromises, because the performance upgrade is definitely worth it, at least if you plan on pushing more than just a single monitor 60fps @ 1080p. This card has totally blown me away with how easily it handles running three monitors in Surround. Absolutely an essential piece of my racing simulation kit, and even has me considering VR. I've got the Hybrid FTW model, and I'm pushing well over 2000 mhz, and never going higher than 51 degrees, running some pretty serious workloads.

I have had this card for over 3 and a half years, and it's just now being outperformed by the RTX 30 series cards. Not even the 20 series could sway me to consider upgrading, and the 30 series is just barely enough to try and convince me to upgrade. Maybe the next series of GPU's will have more availability and be another step up from the 30 series and definitely be worth it.
