Understand the GT 1030 is not a competitive gaming card. It's not even the basic, entry level gaming card. This is best used as an upgrade for those cheap PCs you find littering yard sales. Those OEM bugbears. The kind of thing your mum uses, or something you could 'acquire' from an office or school and nobody would notice. It's 30w tdp. You won't need a separate PSU, or a cooler, unless you live in a volcano. It gets all its power from the PCIe. It runs quiet, cool, and isn't demanding in the least. Not even to install. Plug it in, download the drivers, and you're set. Absolutely anybody can use this card. So how is performance? It isn't smashing records. For anything. But it'll run pretty much anything. Not at 60fps on high, not usually even medium for modern titles, but you'll be able to match consoles, and often out perform them. Some titles like Overwatch or CS, which are light, optimized eSports style games, will be crushed by this card, with 60+fps minimums on higher settings. Or even gorgeous, older titles like Crysis 3 will show excellent performance. This isn't an enthusiast's card, or the best power for dollar, but if you want something to upgrade your 'living room' PC, without being a pain to your eyes or ears, and still play most titles, it's the best option yet. My only complaint would be that 70$ is just a little expensive. 60$ would be a much easier sell. When selling it at 70$, most people compare it to the 750ti, which is definitely stronger, but isn't an appropriate replacement, considering the 1030's small form factor, cool temperature, and low power consumption. They're aimed at customers with entirely different needs. I highly recommend this card for anybody trying to get into PC gaming, and all they have to work with is a cheap prebuilt.

MSI Aero ITX with 90 mm fan, temps under heavy load: 49-52C, idle at 29-31C, memory overclocked to 7108 MHz, GPU +200 MHz (only for this benchmark, normally runs at +125 MHz), decent perfomance, fan working at 35% all the time, its pretty quiet, but producing annoying noise, too loud for ITX or HTPC system i think, maybe the loudest fan in my PC (except old crappy 120 mm fans)

I had get the GT 1030 to be used along a R3 1300X in order to test a "minimum playable" Arma3 gaming rig. I have the Gigabyte low profile model on the bench and it's working surprising well. Totally usable in game at the "VeryHigh" level on a 1440x900 monitor.

Fast enough for playing modern e-sport titles and older games at high settings it can run the latest game on low setting.

its a decent budget gpu, although it is not the best one out there. if you dont have much money, and you are not going to play the latest and greatest from 2017 and the more demanding games, then this gpu is perfect.
