Average Bench: 32.9% (164th of 714)

Based on 440,282 user benchmarks.  Device: 10DE 1401 Model: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960

The new GTX 960 is the third graphics card to feature Nvidia's Maxwell architecture. When the first two Maxwell cards were released back in September 2014 they completely re-shaped the GPU price/performance spectrum not only from Nvidia, but also AMD who were forced to slash prices by around 30%. Unfortunately the new GTX 960 isn't the game changer its predecessors were, and it's actually the weakest of the three Maxwell cards. Comparing the GTX 960 and 970 shows that the 970 is around 70% faster and a comparison of the GTX 960 and 980 shows that GTX 980 is almost exactly twice as fast as the 960. Of the three cards the GTX 970 offers the best bang for your buck, in-fact the GTX 970 is still one of best value cards available. That said, for gaming at 1080p or lower, the GTX 960 will allow decent frame rates at maximum settings for most games. [Jan '15 GPUPro]

Poor average bench

The Nvidia GTX 960 averaged 67.0% lower than the peak scores attained by the group leaders. This isn't a great result which indicates that there are much faster alternatives on the comparison list.

Love this card. Got the Gigabyte 4GB 2x Windforce. Runs everything I've thrown at it satisfactorily. I'd recommend getting 4Gb over 2Gb if you can, obviously.—May '16

These things are a dime a dozen at the moment, and actually run decent games. You'll get a solid 60fps in COD Warzone for example, with low textures and 720p. Most titles from 2015 to 2019 will run nicely at 60fps or greater. You really can't complain about the performance / price ratio here so long as its under 60USD or 100AUD.

Even though i made the mistake to go with the 2GB MSI gaming version of this card (this was atleast 3 years ago) And even if it only has an ASIC quality of 66.8%... this card can be pushed over its limits like none other -without any hardware mods- which i find truly fascinating. It runs most games i play at a decent medium to high setting ratio which is completely fine for the price at the time. Which is why i love it so much. it packs so much punch hidden under its hood for a reasonable price for costumers that are a little low on budget. For now i have the MSI 2G gaming version running at a stable 1506Mhz clock and 4001Mhz mem @1268mV-core. I even took the time to use liquid metal on the GPU die instead of the factory applied compound which was already dried up when i decided to change it. The die under heavy load with factory compound sat around 76-84 Celcius and now with liquid metal sits around 46-53 Celcius, before then the GPU fans will have sped up to their max values to keep the components on the card cool as well because we all know that heat is a slowly destructive factor.

Very good

If you know how to overclock it and increase Pcie speed this card will impress you. Mines in a old gigabyte motherboard with a fx 4100 cpu overclocked to 4600 Mhz and it runs games like gta v at 60fps on high settings.

Performance still good but not that good for high graphics setting. I was benchmark this gpu for new ff games demo. Unfortunately, you can play the game on medium-low graphics settings.

I had a 2GB EVGA card for about 2 years. It played everything I needed at high-max settings and consistently delivered 60fps. Again, I cannot speak to higher resolutions, as I have never played at them, but for 1080p gaming, this card is extremely good.

I still use the GIGABYTE GV-N960IXOC-2GD version. This little critter can take some real punishment and still have some OC room. Amazing!

2 GB just is not enough. And it wasn't enough 2 years ago. I've made a mistake buying 2 GB version. But in other ways it's good.
