My first high end GPU. I got my Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 Gaming in 01/2017. It's been two and a half wonderful years. I've used it to game at 144Hz on 1440p and I love it.

Extremely poor value at the moment, mostly because the 1080 cards are pretty much sold out and third-party resellers are trying to rip you off, but it was never really a great value to begin with. Nvidia sold you a mid-range card at a high-end price so that they could later sell you a Titan X, then a 1080 Ti, and then a Titan Xp at ludicrous, exorbitant prices. Nvidia is exploiting you, as the consumer, no small thanks to AMD essentially deciding they won't compete for bragging rights. And all of you not-so-smart people keep buying Nvidia's cards at their high prices, so don't expect Nvidia to change that any time soon unless AMD (and/or Intel) really steps up the competition. However, even AMD is taking advantage of the situation by now selling their flagship Radeon VII card at a ridiculously high price. The graphics card market really sucks and has sucked since around 2010 to 2011 or so, with only a couple of bright spots here and there. Mostly, however, it's been Nvidia exploiting the situation and taking advantage of uniformed consumers and a general lack of competition, particularly at the high-end.

This does an excellent job for those in the media creation, and editing department, excellent compute scores and does extremely well on my 4K HDR display, if I were to upgrade the Nvidia RTX 2080 actually has lower computer scores but renders faster, therefore would consider the 2080-ti over it, that said if you already own it no point of looking to upgrade considering this dies an excellent job.

After seeing the RTX cards having some problems, found one of these for $300 and water cooled it, Makes VR playable compared to a gtx 1060

With the most recent price drop, you'd be a fool not to pick one up. Even if you have to sell your desk, and/or chair. Make some compromises, because the performance upgrade is definitely worth it, at least if you plan on pushing more than just a single monitor 60fps @ 1080p. This card has totally blown me away with how easily it handles running three monitors in Surround. Absolutely an essential piece of my racing simulation kit, and even has me considering VR. I've got the Hybrid FTW model, and I'm pushing well over 2000 mhz, and never going higher than 51 degrees, running some pretty serious workloads.

True happiness. I've bought that card for 400€. (KFA2). Its working well. You must be on windows 10 to optimize your performances. Run every games without struggling. But you must have a good CPU too. Buy it if you're tired of lagging and if you dont have the money for the TI version.
