Released in 2015, couple of months after the 900 series desktop cards, the GTX960M was a Maxwell, midrange laptop gaming GPU, available in 2 main configurations, 2GB GDDR5 and 4GB GDDR5 versions. In terms of gaming performance, dont expect high FPS in modern titles. From my experience, in Call of Duty Warzone, I would average about 30-40 FPS, low settings, 900p. However, this GPU can still play less demanding titles such as Sea of Thieves, State Of Decay 2, etc, with frames ranging 60+ FPS. But, If you want to continue playing the newest games with adequate framerates/resolution, an upgrade is a good idea.
In terms of Overclocability, yes, this card can OC (I tried +100mhz core, +150mhz memory), however, be aware of overheating, I applied Liquid metal instead of thermal paste on my 960M in my laptop, so my temps are around 60-65 degrees for GPU under full load, but without LM, expect temps to be in the realms of 80-95 degrees (of course, depending on your laptop model).
In conclusion, this GPU can game, but if you want to play the latest AAA games at decent framerates, an upgrade to a new computer would be good.
