Compared to other cards from its time, it was the best in OEM PCs.

For a today price it is still a pretty competitive card with excellent power. After I overclocked on core 1325 and memory 1430 it can beat new cards from AMD like 460, 550, 560 and even get close to 470 and 570. Got score at 61.7%.

Bought a ref design one to put in my little sister's computer for around 50 EUR. This card is perfectly fine on stock clocks, but god can it overclock! core at 1285 and mem at 1450 and it chugs along fine! it gets a 60% score on here, purely insane.

The HD 7870 was released on 2012 next to its little brother the HD 7850, while based on the same chip, the HD 7870 delivers higher perfomance thanks to a higher clock speed and higher shader count, great for a budget 1080p60 gaming experience, it delivers the GTX 1050 2GB perfomance with a little more power draw. DirectX 12 and Vulkan are supported and most games can be player on Medium or High settings, when paired with another 7870, R7 270X or 7850 the perfomance gains are amazing, but sadly Crossfire is not supported across all games and not all supported gaames deliver a satisfactory experience. It's XT variant is based on the Tahiti chip, from the HD 7950, and delivers even better perfomance thanks to a higher shader count but crossfiring outside another XT card, the R9 280 Series or the HD 7900 Series is not supported at all.
