Extremely big card, with a big power draw. Comparable to the FuryX / GTX 1070(ish) on performance usually for a lot less money. If you're lucky you might be able to do a bios flash to unlock some extra compute units and essentially have a free upgrade to a FuryX.

I have the 1040mhz Sapphire tri-X model and it is a cool quiet card that runs my games really well at 1440p. The Fury chips are rubbish overclockers though. Not even voltage control helps which is a shame.—May '16

I got an R9 Fury from Sapphire and its OCed about to 1150 MHz stable... This Fury runs better in all of my Games than the Gigabyte GTX 980 Windforce X3 from my Friend, we don't no why... Even in Arma III or GTA V which are normally running better with an Nvidia GPU..... We both have the same CPU for all of you who are asking that ;)—May '16

Excellent card for what it is. Sapphire's Nitro Fury was the one to get, and that's what I have. Currently, with just a 100-110 MHz overclock (super easy to get on my card w/out even touching the voltage), I have the top 6 spots here on UserBenchmark. Even my runs at stock settings (which, on this card, includes a 50 MHz factory overclock), I'm typically sitting around 85%, so I don't know what the rest of you are doing to your cards to make them perform so poorly, but you need to figure it out. The biggest issue with the Fury series cards (Fury, Nano, Fury X, Pro Duo) in 2019 is their 4GB VRAM limitation. It's starting to become a real dilemma in a handful of recent games since these GPUs are powerful enough to run at settings that require large memory buffers. Otherwise, this card usually performs in the same class as the Fury X (and Nano) and, yes, even the 980 Ti, GTX Titan X, and 1070.

Poor

The efficiency and fact that it's higher end than the 390(x) but only has 4GB VRAM (HBM, so fair enough i guess) made this a shaky card. Probably won't age as well as the 980 Ti or even 390X because of this VRAM capacity and fact that it has very small overclocking headroom compared to mostly the 980 Ti but even the 390X almost. A hard to recommend card without being on sale.

Built much better than the Fury X's, with great aftermarket air cooling and no coil whine that Fury X suffers from. Owned both, kept the normal Fury and it even performs better with fine tuning in Wattman. I own the Sapphire Tri-X version and hold 1100 Mhz on the core, +50% power limit and card stays mid 50's in gaming with good case airflow and 50% fans (barely audible). Excellent card, much prefer to my Reference Vega 64 for all reasons (Power, quietness, temps).

Great card for it's time and was able to purchase it a very competitive price. Still being used today and runs modern games over 60 FPS maxed out although, at 1080p. Power usage and overclocking were however sub par.

Great performance in higher resolutions like 1440p, pretty silent. Drawbacks: Power hungry and only 4GB RAM

Outstanding

I just tested my overclocked sapphire nitro (1120 MHz, 550MHz) and got 116% bench score... The site shows best as 112% so I think I just got one of the top r9 fury card tested on userbenchmark!
