Average Bench: 56.1% (119th of 713)

Based on 1,368,019 user benchmarks.  Devices: 10DE 1C03, 10DE 1C06 Model: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

The GTX 1060 is Nvidia’s third 16 nm Pascal based GPU. It follows last month’s release of the higher end GTX 1070 and 1080. The 1060 has a TDP of 120 Watts and its aftermarket variants are available right away alongside the reference Founders edition. Comparing the GTX 1060 and 970 shows that although the 1060 leads by 12% it is also currently more expensive. Nvidia rushed the release of the GTX 1060 to help retain market share that may otherwise have gone to AMD’s new Polaris based RX 480. Comparing the RX 480 and GTX 1060 shows that for pre DX12 games the 1060 edges ahead by 12%. Due to better hardware compatibility, the RX 480 is able to match the 1060 in DX12 games but this will remain a corner case until most games are optimized for DX12 (likely to take several years). The 1060 has the potential to become a hugely successful card provided prices settle appropriately. [Jul '16 GPUPro]

Optimal GPU for decent 1080p medium-high gaming. Comes with 6GB of GDDR5 VRAM which is enough for most games if you ask. Only really worth buying if you can't afford GTX 1660 and wants to buy used instead to save some money, or aren't willing to replace their 450W or lower PSU with higher wattage or higher quality one.

Still a nice choice, but due to NVIDIA releasing the 16 series, this card is in a bit of an awkward state.

Excellent

Able to run most of the games at 60 fps with the maximum setting. 90~120fps with medium~low setting. This is the standard GPU for most 3D game requirements.

Average

Was the mid range choice for a while before the mid-range market exploded. Nowadays it's a bit pricey for what it does and would recommend a newer card. It did hold up quite well though.

Good

Held really well even after 6 years. It has very good performance, beats the 970, and has a good MSRP.

Powerfull, Low power consumption ,decent price Only i dont know WHY is also produced 3gb version !!! That memory is bottleneck of GPU processor ,for little lower price ..... RX 580 8gb is better purchase like GTX 1060 3gb and without fun in my country is MSI GeForce GTX 1060 3GT OC for 172€ and Sapphire Radeon RX 580 Pulse 8gb fo 175€.... for 5gb more memory only 3€ higher price..... No doubt i like Nvidia but I would buy RX580 8gb Yes GPU processor is better on Nvidia but 2/3 more memory is perfect reason for what bought AMD

Excellent GPU for 1080p gaming. Cheap and reliable too. But reviews said that not much a difference in speed for 3GB & 6GB.

Excellent

Great GPU, perfect for 1080p, or wetting your feet in 1440. Got a mini on sale, and it runs a little warmer then I would like but there's no thermal throttling, the clocks stay stable so I won't complain. Adding an extra $5 case fan and creating a positive environment inside helped the temps out. If you are considering this then don't hesitate when it's on sale.

if you cannnot get a good rx 580, get this one. still good enough for most of the games out there @ 1080p. nvidia gsync sucks though. brands to get: asus (strix gaming OC) or msi (gaming x) or evga (ssc gaming)

Excellent

1080p reference card (2018). There is no game you can't handle at this resolution, only the newest titles (2021) have to be fine tuned to reach solid 60fps, but if fps is not a concern for you it is still awesome today. I got the strix version, solid OC margins gave me up to +10fps (out of 70) in Digital Combat Simulator, so I'm happy to have chosen this custom variant.

This has been my upgrade from my flagship GTX 960. This 1060 6GB is an awesome card and does hold its weight however it's no 1080. If you're a serious gamer start from the Gtx 1070 series. However, if you're on a budget like myself this is the best MONEY for FPS!

Excellent

Easily the most valuable graphics card on the market, in my opinion. My EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SC has so much headroom available running at the factory overclock of 1830 MHz up to my overclock of 2012 MHz with great stability. With the choice of 3GB or 6GB and SC version, it has the options you might need. The money to go up to a 1070 or 1070 TI is too much of a cost/performance boost. To go down in price to a 1050 OR 1050 TI you are going to miss a lot of the performance you would be able to get for a small cost.
